HarperChristian, Thomas Nelson and Tommy Nelson Add Bible Studies, Neurodivergent Devotional and Children’s Prayer Book to Fall 2027 Pipeline
Recent Christian publishing deals include a four-book Bible study series from New Testament scholar Jeremiah Johnston, a devotional created for neurodivergent readers by Denea Marable, and an illustrated prayer book for back-to-school anxiety from Lisa Tawn Bergen and Lauren Gallegos. The projects are slated to arrive between January and summer 2027.
HarperChristian Resources, Thomas Nelson and Zondervan Gift, and Tommy Nelson have each picked up new faith-based titles ranging from scholarly Bible study to a devotional designed for neurodivergent Christians and a picture book aimed at easing children’s school-year worries.
Bible study series to launch in January HarperChristian Resources acquiring editor Mark Weising secured world rights to a four-part series of evidence-based Bible studies by New Testament scholar Jeremiah Johnston, whose earlier book is The Jesus Discoveries: 10 Historic Finds That Bring Us Face-to-Face with Jesus. The first installment, The Jesus Discoveries Bible Study, is scheduled for January and will serve as a companion to that earlier title.
According to the publisher’s description, each volume in the series will combine Johnston’s scholarship with a video component featuring biblical artifacts. Those videos were filmed at the Museum of the Bible in Washington, D.C. Titles and release dates for the three later books have not yet been announced. Johnston negotiated the deal without an agent.
