CB Hands Digital Distribution Over to Bookwire in Major Netherlands-Belgium Shift
Centraal Boekhuis has moved its entire e-book and audiobook catalog onto Bookwire’s platform, transferring fulfillment responsibilities to the German technology company. The deal links a major Dutch-language distribution hub with a fast-growing international digital infrastructure provider.
Dutch distributor Centraal Boekhuis (CB) has completed a significant overhaul of its digital operations, shifting its full catalog of e-books and audiobooks onto Bookwire OS and handing fulfillment responsibilities to the German platform company. The move brings 80,000 e-books and 25,000 audiobooks under Bookwire’s system and marks a major technology transition for one of the most established book distributors in the Netherlands and Belgium.
A major digital handoff
CB is the leading book distributor serving the Netherlands and Belgium, with a history stretching back 150 years and relationships with more than 500 publishers. Its digital reach is broad: CB distributes e-books and audiobooks through more than 200 retail and library channels, among them Kobo, the Dutch Royal Library, and more than 130 Dutch webshops connected through the RDW network. By moving all of those digital titles onto Bookwire OS, CB has effectively transferred the operational backbone of its digital business to a system built and maintained by Bookwire.
