Brent Taylor Launches July First Literary After 12 Years at Triada US
Brent Taylor, formerly vice president and executive agent at Triada US, has launched July First Literary, a full-service agency focused on commercial fiction. Several authors are moving with him, including Rajani LaRocca, Hannah Nicole Maehrer, and Rex Ogle.
Brent Taylor has launched July First Literary, a new full-service literary agency centered on commercial fiction, after 12 years at Triada US. The new venture brings with it a roster that includes Newbery Honor winner Rajani LaRocca, Assistant to the Villain author Hannah Nicole Maehrer, and Printz Honor winner Rex Ogle.
Taylor had served as vice president and executive agent at Triada US, where he represented both children’s and adult authors. Along with the authors joining him at July First Literary, literary assistant Sara Aldrich is also moving from Triada to the new agency.
In announcing the launch, Taylor connected the agency’s name to both a personal milestone and a broader creative outlook. “July 1st is my birthday, but it also represents the heart of summer and a day of possibility,” he said. “Summer is about escape, discovery, and unforgettable stories—things that are also fundamental to being a literary agent. I look forward to continuing to do what I love: working hands-on with my authors in the day-to-day business of publishing books beautifully well, and having fun doing it.”
